Today's episode is all about how to turn an idea into a successful business and how social media got rid of the Gatekeepers, all while maintaining a Successful Marriage with my guest Lamar Tyler.
Lamar and his wife Ronnie make up the husband and wife power pair behind Black and Married with Kids, the largest independent African American marriage and parenting site on the web.
Armed with a passion for empowering married couples and a knowledge of how to leverage social media, Lamar and his wife Ronnie have in five years taken Black and Married with Kids from a small personal blog to an international brand under their own Tyler New Media umbrella that also boasts four independently produced films and a social media presence that includes nearly 150,000 Facebook fans.

CJ is gifted with the ability to study movements, the phenomenon that happens when imagination catches fire. In observing how they start, grow, and influence culture, he's discovered that all movements share one thing in common: a clear, meaningful, and memorable message. CJ helps brands craft these kinds of messages so people respond. His approach has been described as equally futuristic and sensible with a relentless determination to move results forward. Companies usually bring him in for a 1-day process called Movement Messaging or to help them improve their brand communications over several months. Some movements CJ has worked with are TOMS, The Salvation Army, Catalyst, The UN Foundation, People of the Second Chance, and The RED Campaign. Additionally, CJ speaks and writes on movement making and has been featured in publications like CBS Money Watch, MTV, VH1 and RELEVANT.
